Okay, how I got here. I've always had such a big love for art. My first love was drawing and for a long time it stopped there. I met my now husband who helped and inspired me to learn something new. I learned to sew. I started a handmade children's clothing store. My heart was content with a new form of art for awhile. Fast forward to Christmas of 2016 my first year married. My husband and I had been sharing an Instagram account and he asked me why the only people I followed were artists. I told him they each inspired me in their own way. Photography for the beauty it captured in moments you'll never get back, handmade and sewn items that will always tell a story in each tiny thread, and the beauty in art that the artist had imagined in his own mind and brought to life. One thing I noticed about all these accounts was the authenticy. Not one of these artists had fallen in the rut of similarity or copying other artist. It was each their own.
Back to Christmas. My husband had secretly reached out to our wedding photographer. He had surprised me with a brand new camera and lens! Once again he challenged me to learn something new. (He's literally the dream husband.) In taking photos I learned that the most important moments were the tiniest that were often overlooked. It was not the posed photo that was the most beautiful but the raw genuine laughter and love that was caught in those tiny moments. I knew then that the photos I wanted to capture was only that. I want to take photos that celebrate who you really are and what you believe in.
